Expressions of Interest: A Steiner School for Tairāwhiti.

We are exploring the establishment of a small, not-for-profit Steiner school in Tairāwhiti, with the hope of opening in 2028. We envision a nurturing, screen-free learning environment, most likely in a peaceful rural location near Gisborne.

Guided by Steiner education, the school would place creativity, imagination, nature, practical skills and strong relationships at the heart of each child’s learning.

We hope to begin with a combined Class 1–2 for children aged approximately six to eight years, then add another class each year as our school community grows. Our aim is to keep fees as low and accessible as possible while creating a beautiful, meaningful education supported by committed teachers, families and the wider community.

At this early stage, we are seeking expressions of interest from families who may consider enrolling their children, as well as teachers, supporters and community members who would like to help bring this vision to life.
